Thanks Beth. You are right 4th fingers are still a challenge. I loved these as vibrato exercises especially for 4th fingers.

Take care

Thank you Beth for your ideas with scales.  Scales are always my go to.  I seem to feel less frustrated when I play scales as I can just focus on the intonation rather than timing and note reading. New ideas from you are always welcome.  Thank you!
I wish everyone health and safety during this outbreak.  I am shopping for my parents and in-laws.   May we all hunker down and keep our distance until this passes. Our elderly parents and grandparents are our national treasures. With much love,  Sarah

Thank you Beth for boosting this post back to the top and hoping everyone is safe and healthy in Kentucky.  Enjoying checking my intonation with this 'new' exercise.  Have a fabulous day.

Bumping this up to give those of you who missed it an opportunity to play along.

Ha! I love these scale duets. There is lots of them  from different pedagogues in the children's scale books that I got from Dowani a long time ago. It is just such fun to play along with the nice accompaniments. It makes you feel like you play real music, even though it might be just a plain one octave A-major scale. For each scale they also have recommendations for rhythmic patterns in addition to the plain long notes. I am not so concerned any more with the one-octave A-major scale, but I still use it for practice - just now in different positions :).

Thanks for this Beth.I will make every attempt to play it.  Opening comments. I was already insane so the only thing I need to do is use wise caution. Seriously though just remember that nothing is ever as bad as it seems and tomorrow will take care of itself.

Isn't it funny how a vacation is always too short, but time off now probably seems like an eternity. Time adjusts according to our view of the present and perceived future events. Sudden change is often  unwelcome even when moving towards something better, much less when one would rather be somewhere else.

To anyone who is stressed, look for things to enjoy. Talk to your God. Make connections even if online. We are all above the grass. That means we have opportunities for the future.............and we have the violin.

Maria safe travels.

Thanks Beth, will look at this in details/the downloaded materials later today or coming days...Right now I am still on hold for over 40 plus minutes trying to get a refund from the flight that was canceled due to CVD-19.

I am also working on my 1st finger, finding an angle to let it move a bit freer the joint there is not particularly great due to arthritis. At this age wherein our youthfulness has started to dwindle all sorts of unwanted changes happens in our mortal bodies. Still not over from the fact that my well awaited holiday vacation was prematurely cut down from 2 weeks to mere 3 days. I was in my beautiful Greece when it was announced about the travel ban.Of course I have to book another ticket to come back to US before the deadline date set by the government. I could have stayed  there and continue my tour but it might have graver complication later. So I came home...
